OVERVIEW
Students participate in 13 chess sessions after school during the fall semester and/or 13 sessions during the spring semester, facilitated by the Wisconsin Scholastic Chess Federation. Students learn how to play chess, have fun, and may play in tournaments during the sessions where they may win metals and trophies.
NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY! Students new to chess welcome to join, as well as students who have played chess previously. Students in 2nd - 8th* grades may enroll. *If students in first grade are interested in participating, a parent can contact Mr. of the Wisconsin Scholastic Chess Federation to see if he/she would be ready to participate in first grade.
Facilitated by Mr. The mission of the Wisconsin Scholastic Chess Federation is "to promote chess for students throughout Wisconsin as a tool to enhance analytical thinking, critical problem solving, social skills and academic achievement."
